The GoodPlanet Foundation was created in 2005 to raise public awareness of environmental protection and to bring concrete solutions to the Earth’s ecological crisis. The foundation is chaired by Yann Arthus-Bertrand and today it presents its latest project the film Ocean.
Astonishingly, other planets such as Mars and Venus are better mapped than Earth, where a huge amount of water hides the topography of the ocean floor. Currently we can only attempt to map the sea bed using spatial altimetry, although it is only possible to measure the depth of the sea precisely in easily accessible areas. Yann Arthus Bertrand, President of GoodPlanet Foundation says that Ocean is a movie about love.
